The Erie County District Attorney's Office released a statement following the death of Marchello Woodard. 

The office said they are responsibility to conduct an independent, comprehensive, and impartial review of the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.

Erie County Detectives will be working with Pennsylvania State Police to gather all relevant evidence, including statements, video, and forensic analysis.

According to the District Attorney's Office, an autopsy was performed on July 3, and the Erie County Coroner's Office has officially ruled the death a homicide.

The DA's office asks for the community's patience as they continue their detailed investigation. They understand the public's desire for answers, and are committed to full transparency while protecting the integrity of the process.

According to the office, when the investigation is complete, they will determine whether criminal charges are appropriate based on the law
and the evidence.


They will continue to provide updates when they are able to do so without compromising the integrity of the investigation.
