Community rallies in wake of Marcello Woodard’s death.

It's been several days since the death of Marcello Woodard, and community members continue to seek answers. As tensions grow, local leaders are stepping forward—calling for justice, unity, and support for the grieving family.

Church members from across the city have come together to offer their support to Woodard’s family.

Pastor Ryan Gaines was among those urging for transparency and accountability. He joined the District Attorney and other officials at a recent community meeting to discuss the circumstances surrounding Marcello’s death.

“More importantly, the family was present,” Pastor Gaines said. “They had the opportunity to hear directly how the city plans to move forward in the pursuit of justice for Marcello.”

Pastor Gaines added:

“They heard us. They took notes. Prosecutor Hirz seemed genuinely committed to ensuring that justice is properly served. But before that, we need a thorough investigation.”
