Dutch Village Restaurant to Be Featured on 'America’s Best Restaurants' Roadshow
The Dutch Village Restaurant, located in Clymer, will be featured on an upcoming episode of America’s Best Restaurants, a nationally broadcasted social media series highlighting standout local, independently owned eateries across the country.
The ABR Roadshow will film on-site Monday, July 21, from 9 a.m. to noon. The episode will spotlight several of the restaurant’s most popular dishes and include an on-camera interview with owner Deborah White, who has worked at the restaurant for nearly five decades.
Located in a former tack and harness shop dating back to the late 1800s, the Dutch Village became a full-time restaurant in the 1940s and adopted its current name in 1954. White’s parents, George and Shirley Carutis, purchased the business in 1979, and Deborah has been at the helm since 1991.
Now marking her 47th year at the restaurant, White says she’s most proud of the work environment she’s helped create. “My goal is to make this a job that you don’t dread going to,” she said. “We strive for peace and enjoyment in the workplace.”
Known for hearty, made from scratch meals and an extensive gluten-free menu, the Dutch Village is also home to a popular gift shop, outdoor pavilion, and event space.
The episode’s release date will be announced on the Dutch Village Restaurant’s Facebook page and shared by America’s Best Restaurants at www.americasbestrestaurants.com.
