Julian’s Bar & Grill to be Featured on National Series America’s Best Restaurants
A Meadville favorite is about to earn national recognition. Julian’s Bar & Grill will be featured on an upcoming episode of America’s Best Restaurants, with filming scheduled for Tuesday, July 22, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The episode, part of the ABR Roadshow series, will spotlight the restaurant’s top menu items and include an on-camera interview with owners D.J. and Kalli York, highlighting their story, community impact, and the vision behind Julian’s.
Known for its rustic charm and standout burgers, Julian’s has earned a loyal following since D.J. York purchased the business in 2014. The culinary school grad and former caterer brought his kitchen creativity to Meadville after time working in Pittsburgh and North Carolina. His now-wife Kalli, originally a server at Julian’s, partnered with him in both business and life.
“We've got twenty-some [burgers] on the menu,” D.J. said. “They're big, fresh, cooked to temperature, pretty amazing stuff.”
The Yorks are deeply rooted in the community, from D.J.’s involvement in youth coaching to the restaurant’s commitment to inclusive hiring, including students from local culinary programs and participants in Crawford County’s Mental Health Awareness Program (CHAPS).
“I want to build a legacy for my children,” D.J. said. “It’s always been my passion. It’s what I do.”
The finished episode will premiere later this year and be shared on America’s Best Restaurants’ social media platforms and website.
