Swimming is restricted at Beach 11 in Presque Isle State Park due to high E. coli levels, park officials announced Tuesday morning.

Testing showed bacteria counts above safety limits, prompting the Erie County Health Department to issue the restriction.

Visitors can still enjoy sunbathing and other activities on the beach, but entering the water is not allowed until bacteria levels drop. Daily water testing is underway.

The park’s other swimming beaches remain open.
