Local lawmakers spent Thursday afternoon touring the former Erie Coke site.

Both Republicans and Democrats were joined by DEP and PennDOT to discuss the need for federal funding and highlight recent investments made at the state level.

Rep. Mike Kelly and State Rep. Pat Harkins, both were in attendance, and explained how productive it is to see the federal and state governments working hand-in-hand on the issue.

They also said that, once it is fully cleaned up, the location will be tough to beat for any business looking to potentially move into that space.
