Erie Center for Arts and Technology has named Jude Shingle as its new executive director.

Shingle had been the organization's deputy director and was named ECAT's interim director.

“It's humbling to step into this role after such a rich legacy of leadership here. We have a great staff, and it's an honor to work with them every day,” Shingle said. “We have great visions for where we're going, and I'm excited to get there.”

He joined ECAT in 2021 as the arts program director.

“Jude has been part of ECAT since day one. The work he did in establishing and overseeing the arts program was truly second-to-none,” ECAT board president Boo Hagerty said. “His passion, positive energy, and ability to connect with students [have] made him a true asset, and we’re thrilled to see him lead the center into the future.”

Shingle will continue to oversee the arts and adult career training programs.
