Warren Firefighters Partner with Family Center for First Charity Golf Scramble

City of Warren Fire Department, Warren PA
Warren, PA - The City of Warren Fire Department is teaming up with the Jefferson DeFrees Family Center and the Kinzua Discovery Center to host their first annual charity golf scramble at Blueberry Golf Course in Russell.
The event is scheduled for Sunday, September 28th, with proceeds benefiting Warren Fire Fighters I.A.F.F. Local 537 and their educational programs. Part of the funds will also support the proposed Kinzua Discovery Center, a multimillion-dollar project aimed at bringing a children’s museum and all ages indoor activity center to Warren County.
Organizers say they are still looking for sponsors, but registration is open for teams at a cost of $80 per person.
“Firefighting is something that goes deeper into my history than a lot of people may realize," stated Jennifer Madigan, Jefferson Defrees Family Center, Childcare Director. "So being able to collaborate with the I.A.F.F. Local 537 is really cool. We've also said from the beginning that the Discovery Center is not an island alone to itself - it's all about community and collaboration."
"We have been looking for ways to give back to the community," said Hunter Seeling, Warren city firefighter and event organizer. "This seemed like a good opportunity to team up with the Defrees Family Center. So, proceeds from this golf scramble will not only help our union, but their organization as well. We hope that maybe after this we can do other things for the community like sponsoring some little league teams with the funding we get."
