Warren County Commissioners Urge Action on State Budget

The Warren County Commissioners are calling on the General Authority and Governor Shapiro to finalize a budget "without further delay," they said in a press release.
The delay has disrupted county operations and put financial strain on county taxpayers, they said.
The budget impasse has a variety of impacts, ranging from behavioral health and probation funding, some salary funding and grant dollars, Warren County Commissioner Tricia Durbin said.
“With the legislature recessed until after Labor Day, counties face growing risks to critical services for seniors and children, while our mutual constituents grow increasingly frustrated by the ongoing delay,” the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania said in a letter to the governor and General Assembly.
At this time, Warren County does not need to borrow funds to cover the funding gap, Warren County Fiscal Director Bret Baillie said.
