Barber Beast on the Bay is sold out for the first time in the event's history, according to a Facebook post.

Earlier this year, organizers announced the decision to end the event after 12 years.

More than 13 thousand participants have raised over $830 thousand for the Barber National Institute. The institute supports people with intellectual disabilities and autism.

Registration is still open for the adapted course. That will continue in a new format.

The final race is Saturday at Presque Isle State Park.
