New Details on 2 Tornadoes Confirmed in Northwestern Pennsylvania During Monday's Storms

Two tornadoes touched down in northwestern Pennsylvania during Monday's storms, the National Weather Service in Cleveland confirmed during site surveys Tuesday.
An EF-2 tornado touched down on Knoyle Rd. east of the intersection of Plum Rd. in Erie County.
The tornado claimed the lives of two horses and caused multiple barns to collapse in the area.
It had maximum wind speeds of 115 mph, a path length of 1.06 miles and a width of 150 yards.
There was also an EF-0 tornado just east of Lake Canadohta in Crawford County.
This tornado had maximum wind speeds of 70 mph, a path length of 0.45 miles and a width of 25 yards.

Survey Summary:
The National Weather Service Cleveland office confirmed an EF-
2 tornado in eastern Erie County, Pennsylvania, with maximum
estimated wind speeds of 115 mph and a maximum path width of
150 yards. The tornado touched down just northwest of the
intersection of Plum Road and Page Road, with swirls in the field
and moving northeast toppling a large tree and destroying a barn
near Knoyle Rd. The tornado crossed Knoyle Road and struck a second
barn directly, which contained several vehicles and trailers. The
barn was destroyed, leaving the cars heavily damaged and a
trailer overturned. Debris from the structure was across a
nearby field and into the adjacent woods. Two horses and several
cows were killed as a result of the tornado. A nearby home
sustained moderate damage, including ripped siding from the west
side, broken windows, and a blown-out side door. The tornado
continued northeast across an open field before entering a wooded
area, where it damaged several trees. It then lifted shortly
thereafter.

Survey Summary:
The National Weather Service in Cleveland confirmed an
EF0 tornado in the Canadohta Lake area. The tornado initially
formed as a waterspout over the lake before moving onshore and
tracking northeast through the community. As the storm came
ashore and caused minor structural damage. Large tree limbs from
a nearby tree were blown onto a home, resulting in roof damage,
including a puncture hole caused by one limb. Several medium-
sized trees were knocked down, and numerous tree limbs were
broken throughout the area. Additionally, two powerline poles
were blown down. No other structural damage was reported. A
resident captured video footage of the waterspout approaching the
shore and moving onto land as a tornado. This tornado had
estimated maximum wind speeds of 70 mph and a width of 25 yards.
